Year 1 Summer: The Mid-Game Kickoff
Preserve Jars vs Kegs — Which First?
| Machine | Cost | Materials | Output | Processing Time | Profit Per Fruit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Preserve Jar | 30g + 1 Coal + 1 Wood + 1 Stone | 8 Copper | 2x base price + 50g | 2-3 days | 50g (blueberry) |
| Keg | 30g + 1 Copper + 1 Iron + 1 Oak Resin | 30 Wood + 1 Copper + 1 Iron | 3x base price | 7 days (wine) | 150g (blueberry) |
Rule of thumb: Build Preserve Jars first (Year 1 Summer) for blueberries. Build Kegs second (Year 1 Fall → Year 2) for Starfruit and Ancient Fruit.
Summer Money Breakdown

Bus and Desert Unlock
Complete the Vault bundles (or pay Joja 42,500g) to unlock the Desert bus by mid-Fall. This gives access to:
- Starfruit seeds: 400g each from Sandy. Plant in greenhouse or summer only.
- Skull Cavern: Iridium for sprinklers, Prismatic Shard for Galaxy Sword.
- Sandy's stock: Also sells Rhubarb (spring), Starfruit (summer).
Year 1 Winter: The Infrastructure Push
Winter has no crops (unless you have the greenhouse). Focus on:
| Activity | Why | Expected Value |
|---|---|---|
| Mining | Iridium sprinklers, tool upgrades | Priceless |
| Skull Cavern | Iridium, Prismatic Shards | 10,000-50,000g/day |
| Greenhouse unlock | Community Center Pantry | Long-term investment |
| Tapping trees | Oak Resin (for kegs) | 20+ tappers on oak trees |
| Fiber + wood farming | Clear forest for materials | Foundation for Year 2 |
Winter Keg Math: 1 oak tree with tapper = 1 Oak Resin every 7 days. Each keg requires 1 Oak Resin. You need ~6 oak trees per 10 kegs you want. Plant a dedicated oak grove near the train station.
Year 2+: The Artisan Empire
Greenhouse Setup (116 Ancient Fruit)
| Step | Capital Required | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Find Ancient Seed | 0g | Museum donation → Seed Maker |
| Propagate to 116 | Free (seed maker) | One ancient fruit = 1-3 seeds |
| Fill greenhouse | 0g seeds | Deluxe Speed-Gro recommended (25% faster) |
| 116 Kegs | ~23,200g materials | Put kegs in Big Shed (137 tiles) |
| Weekly harvest | 116 Ancient Fruit Wine | 191,400g/week gross |
Cellar aging: Fill cellar casks (33 slots) with Ancient Fruit Wine. Aged to iridium quality over 56 days. Sell for 4,950g per bottle. Rotate: fill all 33, wait 56 days, sell, refill.
Pig Truffle Farm

|---|---|---|---|
| Pigs purchased | 8-12 | ~20 truffles/day | 21,300g via Truffle Oil |
| Barn upgrade | Deluxe Barn (12 pigs) | 30-36 truffles/day | 38,000g/day |
| Profession | Gatherer (foraging Lv10) | Double truffle pickup | 2x output |

Pro Money Making Tips
- Day 1 fishing optimization: Fish at the mountain lake from Day 2 onward. Catfish (spring rain) sell for 200g each. Save all fish >100g for early seed money.
- Seed maker exploit: Plant cheap wheat in summer/fall. Process every harvest through seed makers. Wheat has 1-day growth with Speed-Gro. Each wheat seed costs 10g. Each Seed Maker output gives 1-3 wheat seeds (avg 2). This effectively doubles your seeds.
- Tea saplings: At Farming Lv2, Caroline's 2-heart event gives the Tea Sapling recipe (2 Wood + 5 Fiber + 2 Wild Seeds — sell for 500g each). This is the best Year 1 Spring money maker after fishing. Craft 50+ saplings for 25,000g profit.
- Fish Pond replicas: Super Cucumbers (ocean) produce Iridium Ore. Lava Eels (mine L100) produce Spicy Eel and Magma Geodes. Rainbow Trout have a 0.5% chance for Prismatic Shard.
- Wine vs Jelly: Wine (3x base price) beats Jelly (2x+50g) for high-value crops. Jelly beats Wine for low-value crops (wheat, corn). Calculate before processing.
- Fairy Rose honey: Plant Fairy Rose near bee houses in fall. Fairy Rose honey sells for 680g base (952g with Artisan). 20 bee houses = 19,040g every 4 days.
- Penny-pinching: Save fiber, wood, and stone from Day 1. You need 200+ Wood + 100+ Stone + 50+ Fiber for essential buildings. Don't sell raw materials.
- True perfection: The in-game tracker shows your progress toward 100% Perfection. Money is only one component — you also need all recipes, artifacts, and Stardrops. But having 10M+ gold makes buying everything easy.
