Palworld Breeding Mechanics
Breeding lets you combine two Pals to produce an egg that hatches into a specific offspring. This is the only way to get Pals with perfect passive skill combinations and the highest stats.
Breeding Farm Setup

How It Works
- Place the Breeding Farm on flat ground
- Assign one male and one female Pal to the farm
- Place 1 Cake in the farm's inventory box
- Wait — breeding takes 5-10 minutes (real time) per egg
- Collect the egg from the farm
- Incubate the egg in an Egg Incubator (Lv7, 5 Paldium + 10 Stone + 30 Bone)
Incubation times: Common egg = 2 min, Uncommon = 5 min, Rare = 10 min, Epic = 15 min, Legendary = 20 min. Use Campfires near the incubator to speed up incubation (warm eggs hatch faster).

Cake Production Chain
You need cake constantly for breeding. The recipe requires 5 ingredients:

Automated Cake Farm Setup
- Plant wheat: 50 wheat seeds in a plantation (Lv15)
- Ranch for eggs: Assign 2 Chikipi to Ranch
- Ranch for milk: Assign 2 Mozzarina to Ranch
- Ranch for honey: Assign 2 Cinnamoth to Ranch
- Build Mill: Lv15 — grind wheat → flour
- Build Cooking Pot: Lv9 — combine ingredients into cake
- Assign a Kindling Pal (Foxparks or Arsox) to Cooking Pot
Production rate: With 2 Chikipi + 2 Mozzarina + 2 Cinnamoth + 50 wheat plants, you'll produce ~5 cakes per hour — enough for 5-10 breeding cycles.
Perfect Breeding Strategy
Goal: 4-Trait Anubis (Legend + Lucky + Musclehead + Ferocious)

10/10/10 rule: For best results, breed only Pals whose IV stats (HP, ATK, DEF) are at least 10 points above base value. IVs partially inherit.
Pro Breeding Tips
- Gender imbalance fix: If you keep getting only males or females, catch more of the underrepresented gender. Gender ratio is ~50/50 per species.
- Cake economy: Never let cake sit in the Breeding Farm once the egg is produced — it gets consumed on start, not per egg. One cake = one breeding attempt.
- Egg quality: Common eggs are usually not worth incubating unless the species is rare. Scrap them for Paldium fragments.
- Breeding for speed: Swift + Runner + Nimble + Legend on a Fenglope = the fastest ground mount in the game. Use it for exploration and boss running.
- Mutation farming: Breed large quantities of the same pair. Even a 5% mutation rate yields results after 20+ eggs. Use this to get Lucky on Pals that don't naturally spawn with it.
- Pal condenser: Once you have your perfect 4-trait Pal, feed duplicate Pals of the same species into the Pal Condenser (Lv14) to boost its partner skill level.
